“How Is Innovation Possible?”: An Analysis of Rancière’s Post-Marxist View on Innovation

As a representative figure of contemporary left-wing and post-Marxism, Rancière answers the question how innovation is possible from perspective aesthetic politics. In his view, only when reformationary “undivided division” takes equality as prerequisite, thus breaking division sensible space by capitalist security order achieving “sensible redistribution.” Although Rancière’s view on recognizes confinement rule, it ultimately reduced to post-Marxist discourse critique because loses practical orientation Marx’s theory. The analysis does not help discover “bright spots” defects in thought, but also provide new ideas for us consider aforementioned times.
